Detailed itinerary

08:00: Meet up with our driver at the meeting point in downtown Beijing and board the bus for a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Jinshanling Great Wall.

10:30: Arrive at Jinshanling and select your own hiking options:
Option 1: Loop hiking from East Gate to Main Gate
3.5 hours/7km
Good body shape, hiking experience, active adventurers, many big step, elevation gain up to 450m

Option 2: Return hiking through the Main Gate
2-3hours, many options, referred to our maps
Elderly, people with kneel problem

14:30: Back to the parking lot and drive back to Beijing.

17:00-17:30: Back to the same meeting point in downtown, timing depends on traffic.

What are the best season to hike the Wall?

The best season are Arpil/May/September/October. It's very hot and humid in summer (June/July/August), however the green scenery also is stunning. Winter in November/December/January/February is chilly cold, you have to prepare well at this time. Occasionally there're snows in winter, it will be very slippery on the Wall.

Can kids take this tour?

Kids over 13 years are taken as adults; kids younger than 12 years are not allowed to take this tour.

Are trekking poles available?

Yes, trekking poles are available.

I'm worried if I'm lost when finding the return bus after visit?

No worries! No matter which hiking option you take, you will have to get out of the main gate and get back the Tourist Center. Our driver will wait for you there.
